Not everyone has the means or enjoys exercising in public places such as gyms, so home exercise equipment is very beneficial to a lot of people. However, the majority of home exercise equipment from the past was very bulky and heavy, so once you got it set up in your house, you wouldn’t be able to move it.

Now that we’ve taken a glance at the specifications, let’s dive deeper into the main features that are meant to sell us on the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike, and see how effective they are.

Portability and Storage

The portability of the exercise bike is one of the most important features and one of the unique selling points for the piece of equipment. In fact, this bike folds up to half of the usable size for excellent transportation and storage.

This is a great benefit because one of the most common reasons why people don’t get home exercise equipment is because they don’t think that they have enough room to store it. However, with the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike, this is no longer an issue.

The folded size of the bike is 20.5 x 22 x 55 inches, which makes the shape much thinner and a little taller than when it is set up ready to be used. While the height is increased, this doesn’t pose an issue for many people as it can be stored in the corner of a room out of sight.

The bike also weighs around 40 pounds, making it simple to move around once you’re finished with it. There are even wheels built in so that you don’t have to lift it to transport it from room to room. Overall, we’re happy with how portable and easy to store this exercise bike is, and we think that it will fit into any home without issue.

Heart Rate Monitor

You can track your heart rate through the heart pulse sensors located on the handles of the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike. Your heart rate will show up on the LCD display and allows you to keep an eye on your heart rate to ensure that you’re not over or undertraining.

We really like this aspect of the exercise bike as it gives you something to track to take your mind off of the exercise. Moreover, you’ll be able to set yourself targets and track your progress.

The only qualm that we have with the heart rate monitors is that your hands need to be placed in the correct position throughout the entirety of your exercise. If not, you’ll get sparse readings and you might find it difficult to keep track. The optimal position might be too uncomfortable for some people.

Magnetic Resistance

The resistance on your exercise bike will determine how difficult it is for you to continuously pedal. The higher the resistance, the better the workout that you get will be. However, beginners shouldn’t begin at the hardest resistance level unless they want to lose the ability to walk for the next few days.

For this reason, we think that the eight different magnetic resistance levels are very beneficial for users. Beginners can work their way up the levels, and this will offer a sense of achievement when you jump up a level. You’ll also be able to determine the difficulty of your workout so that you don’t always have to finish an intense workout.

We think that the opportunity to pick the difficulty rating of your workout is very beneficial to any user.

Pedals

The pedals included with this bike are large and offer an impressive surface area to ensure everyone can use the bike, no matter their shoe size. The pedals also come equipped with straps to secure your feet to the pedals so that you don’t injure your knees or ankles by slipping off of the pedals.

The Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike does come with brakes; however, we found that these were positioned a little far away from the pedals. To reach them, your foot has to apply a lot of pressure onto the brake in front of the pedal. Particularly with the straps attached, we found this a little challenging.

Ease of Setup

Setting up this foldable exercise was very easy, and we’re not the only person to say so. Many other reviewers found that the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike was incredibly easy to set up for the first time, taking most of them less than 45 minutes to do so.

You do not have to be mechanically inclined to put this machine together either, so it is ideal for everyone as long as you’re good at following instructions!

LCD Display

The display measures in at 3.3 x 1.5 inches tall, and the numbers are relatively large so they’re easy for you to read. The display isn’t the best feature, and it definitely could be larger to include more information, but it does the job.

One interesting function that comes with the display is the ability for the bike to turn itself off and on when the pedals are moved. This saves battery power and prevents the risk of fire from an unattended machine.

The display shows you how long you’ve been riding, the distance you’ve covered, your current heart rate, your speed, and how many calories you’ve burned. The display will change through all of these numbers; however, you can set it to only show you one.

Overall, we like the LCD display and everything that it shows, but we would appreciate it if it was a little bigger and perhaps displayed more than one reading at a time.

Adjustable Seat

The seat can be adjusted in height to allow for anyone from 5 foot 3 to 6 foot 1 to use. The seat is big with a large surface area for the maximum amount of comfort. If you’ve ever suffered through using a gym exercise bike before, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the comfort of this seat.

The seat is also decently padded for additional comfort, so you won’t be deterred from using the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike. The additional effort that the manufacturer put in to ensure that this machine is as comfortable as possible is very impressive and a factor that we are very appreciative of.

Final Verdict

After exploring the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike thoroughly, we can safely say that this is one of the best exercise bikes available on the market right now. The fact that it folds up to half its original size is just a bonus. There are plenty of features on this bike that make us excited to continue using it.

The ergonomic design ensures comfort to everyone who uses it, and the versatility allows people of all shapes and sizes to get on this bike and take it for a spin. The adjustable seat caters to people of different heights, and the large surface area of the seat keeps everyone comfortable.

This exercise bike is very easy to set up and take down in between uses, and the wheels allow you to store it away in another area of your house without hassle. The overall weight of the machine is small, but don’t let that fool you – the build quality is impressive and can hold up to 300 pounds at a time.

Of course, a few things could be improved upon in our eyes, such as the size of the display and the positioning of the brakes in relation to the pedals. Having said that, for the inexpensive price of the Exerpeutic Folding Exercise Bike, we think that these drawbacks are easily looked over.
